The possessions that Ned left behind have been sitting on the beach since he was attacked. At one point, the town had rounded it all up and put it in a big pile. I assumed that meant they'd deal with it.
Months later it was all still there, having been looted and vandalized.
This afternoon, a small crew from First Baptist, Fellowship Baptist, and Grace Church cleaned up the West Beach campsite where our friend Ned had lived.
He wouldn't have left it like this. It was his home. He was trying for better. He deserved a better legacy than that.
Rest in peace, friend.
